About the Paycheck Calculator

This free paycheck calculator helps people in the United States get a quick, private estimate before they talk to a lender, insurer, employer or advisor. There is no signup, nothing is stored on our servers and every result updates instantly in your browser.

How this calculator works

Annual gross pay minus the standard deduction gives federal taxable income. Federal tax, 7.65% FICA (Social Security plus Medicare) and your state rate are subtracted, then the net is divided by your pay frequency.

Worked example

$65,000 salary, single, 4% state tax, bi-weekly: take-home is about $1,990 per paycheck. Change any input above to see how the result moves, which is the fastest way to understand which factor matters most for you.

Tips to get a better result

Check your W-4 withholding if you owe or get large refunds. Pre-tax benefits like 401(k) and health premiums lower taxable pay but are not modelled here.

Key factors that change your result

Take-home pay depends on filing status, pre-tax deductions, state and local taxes, and benefits such as health premiums or 401(k) contributions, which this estimate does not include. Check your W-4 if your actual paychecks differ from the result.

Accuracy and limits

Every calculator on Tools30 uses standard published formulas combined with average US market assumptions. Real offers depend on your credit profile, state, provider and personal circumstances, so treat the output as a starting point and confirm with an official quote or a licensed professional.
